Congratulating him on the surrender of Lord Cornwallis; praising George Washington's leadership; noting that the enemy troops in South Carolina "have kept themselves pretty quiet in the lower parts of this Country near to Charles Town, except some small parties employed in burning the buildings upon the Islands between Buford and Savannah"; discussing the recent capture of a hospital near Fair Lawn; arguing that it is okay to capture hospitals: "if there was nothing in the manner that marks the action with cruelty the thing is not improper"; commenting on the shortage of ammunition.
