Summary
Informing them of his Sept. 8th victory at Eutaw Springs; adding that "a large French fleet" has arrived in Chesapeake Bay to help in an attack against Lord Cornwallis; explaining that Cornwallis is expected to try to retreat through North Carolina to Charleston; asking them to bring "as large a body of riflemen" as they can to Charlotte to prevent Cornwallis's retreat.
