Referring to an account of the "Action at James Town"; commenting on Lord Cornwallis's actions in Virginia and remarking that "his movements into the uper [sic] Country after crossing the [James] river are difficult to explain"; referring him to his "letters of the 17th and 22nd," which he says "will explain ... the line of conduct [Greene] wish[es Lafayette] to pursue"; telling him to follow Lord Cornwallis into North Carolina "should the enemy push this way with all their force"; discussing General [Thomas] Sumter's recent actions near Biggin's Church in South Carolina.
