Summary
Replying to a complaint by an author of errors in his essay, blaming it on the delay in the return of corrected proofs and the rush by the printer and also "...to the manner in which the Society's proceedings are reported. In every report we have to strike out whole long paragraphs which are repudiated by the speakers to whom they are attributed, and where a speaker is credited with his own speech it is so distorted that the necessary corrections involve as much work as setting up the whole a fresh! I tell you that others find the same faults and that we are not responsible for the reporting; you will see how awkwardly we are placed. I shall write to the Secretary on the subject, but I shall be glad to hear from you again. I purpose printing a note at the end of our next report of the discussion, containing your denial."
