Notes
Illuminated initial E enclosing the Pacheco arms, viz. argent, two braziers or and gules, with serpents issuing from their sides. Below text, illuminated seal of the King Don Juan with the arms of Spain and having in outer border the names of Ruy Dias de Mendoca, major domo of the king, and Juan de Silva, chief standard bearer of the king. This is flanked by the names of the chief nobles who witnessed the original. Lead seal is missing, but the colored silk cord referred to in the document is still attached.
