Being a collection of eight letters from Geraldine Jewsbury to Chapman and Hall, her publishers, concerning the publication of her first two novels. The first six letters are written from Green Heys, Manchester in 1844 and concern the manuscript and publication of her first novel, "Zoe : the History of Two Lives" (1845). The seventh letter concerns the publication of her second novel, "The Half Sisters" (1848) and the eighth letter, written in April 1866, relates to Jane Carlyle's death.
