Summary
Relating news of his journey back to Washington and the "present spell of warm weather" which has produced "a good deal of sickness," but expecting that as she is not coming until November, "the frosts before that time will render every thing safe;" telling her that "mrs Madison is still at Gray's ferry. altho' the part affected is healed, it is thought as yet too tender to venture on the journey."
