Summary
Concerning the nervous state of his Chest, noting that "any thing extra such as speaking to an unaccostomed [sic] Person or writing a Note half suffocates me." Discussing his intended trip to Italy, mentioning that it "wakes me at daylight every morning and haunts me horribly." Acknowledging the futility of the journey, but asking Taylor to ascertain the expense of the passage and a years residence there. Further discussing the state of his chest, stating "I am convinced that this sort of thing does not continue for nothing," and inviting him to visit.
