Horace Twiss; play, The Carib Chief: A Tragedy in Five Acts, was published in London in 1819.
The year of writing is from a penciled notation "This letter to be dated 1819."
Written to the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane and with a separate address panel to "The Gentlemen / of / The Sub Committee."
Removed from an extra-illustrated volume from the series Dramatic Memoirs (PML 9505-9528).
A list of the dramatis personae for the Twiss tragedy is added in a postscript in an unknown hand and below it, in the same hand, the performers for the Jew of Lubeck, "a Melodrama in two acts accepted some time back by the Gentlemen of the Sub-committee and to be read tomorrow."
Summary
Concerning Horace Twiss' tragedy; saying "I have read Mr. Horace Twiss's Tragedy and so much approve of it, that I shall with your permission, put it into immediate preparedness."
