Summary
Regretting he cannot visit him and commenting on the political situation; saying "I think the Conservatives will gain a good number of seats, and, I hope, will be able to form a government. But I question whether we shall get any stability into our affairs. The poison of Socialism has got into the blood of our workingmen, and there will be some say brutal surgery before it is let out. I wish you were back in England, and that we could have a good long gossip over all these matters. My health is a little better I think, but I'm not inclined for any serious work. I've just promised to write a little preface to a brochure that the Fellowship of Freedom is bringing out, apropos of the County Council's restrictions on Music Halls. I hope that you are well and that your wife is better."
