Notes
The place of writing is not provided however Henley writes to Robert Louis Stevenson on April 15, 1875 from the "Surgical Ward 4 Private, Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh" and in that letter tells Stevenson that he has just completed all the tobacco songs.
With penciled marks and comments in the hand of Robert Louis Stevenson.
X is published in "A Book of Verses" (1888) p. 163; IV, VI, and X in Henley's "Works" (1908), II, 221-3.
