Sending him William Cowper's silver snuff box; telling him that Cowper had the snuff box with him "during [his final] two days in which he lay insensible to anything but the comfort of taking now & then a pinch from it"; noting that Cowper's "very small property affords few things to offer to his friends"; offering to let him choose something else from Cowper's "reliques" should "a snuff box be useless to" him.
