Summary
Declining her invitation to speak at the Pioneer Club due to a commitment to speak at his father's parish, "...involving, I fear, some reading aloud which frightens me quite as much as would speaking at the Pioneers. For of this latter I should be rather frightened. Barry Pain has chosen the more grateful part - to argue in favour of a paradox is very good fun - to argue against it brings the danger of being very heavy and dull; I am hopelessly sceptical of his sincerity. I'm so glad you like Princess Osra. The book has been very kindly received."
