Praising her son's acting ability; saying "I am sure you will be pleased to know that your son has done his work with us in a most admirable manner. His performance of 'Algie Fairfax', the young man in 'Diplomacy' was excellent. - at Derby he played the lover in 'The Profligate' with great feeling - a most difficult part...It has been a great pleasure to myself & Mr. & Mrs. Gardiner to have him with us, & I feel certain that he has a prosperous future before him."
