Summary
Acknowledging receipt of his letter concerning two officers and offering his full attention to the matter; saying he has been told about a possible change of purpose for the Gosport New Barracks and requesting a "more secure position" for a Mr. Jenks who is the current Barrack Master; adding in a postscript that he has just heard of a vacancy and he will fill it with one of the officers recommended by Pulteney; informing him that the 2nd officer he recommended has died.
