Summary
Providing a summary of his account balances; reporting that Mr. D'Oyly's estate has been approved and "you shall neither be a Bankrupt nor Beggar when you return; saying that his son is doing well at Harrow; adding that when he comes back to England it "will exist whence you return, but as a Man exists when he has had 2 or 3 Paralitic Strokes. This Infernal American business will undo this Country, we still persist tho we have every day less and less reason to hope for success. The Irish are reduced to such Distress that great Fears are entertained of their revolting, some of the counties have resolved not to import any English commodities. I still entertain the Thought of residing in America. I am of Opinion the Public Debt will not hold out much longer, when that is gone, I go too, but I should like to have you in England first."
