Announcing that General [George] Washington "will arrive here in the course of the day from whence he will proceed with his family with all possible despatch to Virginia"; mentioning that he will need fresh horses in Baltimore and "Queen Anns"; writing, "Knowing your wishes to forward an enterprise of so much consequence as the Capture of Cornwallis & his Army, I have taken the liberty of requesting you, to Interest yourselves in procuring the horses wanting on this occasion, which will greatly facilitate the march of his Excellency and the favor wilil be duly acknowledged."
