Summary
Concerning the production of his play "The Skin Game"; saying "I will tell you exactly the situation in regard to my new play. Fagan wishes to produce it, but owing to the uncertainty about 'The Merchant of Venice' length of run etc cannot at present give me any date. Unless you and Vedrenne (always supposing you liked the play) could guarantee me a production before next May say in April ; it would not be worthy my while to reopen the matter with Fagan. If Vedrenne feels hurt that I did not come to him first he must remember that the uncertainty about the Royalty did not encourage one to think of the possibility at first, nor have I had any invitation from him since 'The Foundations.".
