Summary
Concerning the loss of a Guard boat taken by deserters from the British army; saying he was "not Surprized at what you tell me, that a Corporal, & three privates, who have Deserted from the Enemy, should go to them with your Guard Boat - but I am very much Surprized you ever Suffered The Boat to be under their Care; I told you long ago not to Trust These Men of Your Regiment, especially in a Station so Tempting to Deserters. I must add, I think you much to Blame. another Guard Boat shall be procured as soon as possible, of which, I must request you will be more carefull than of that you have Lost."
