Summary
Thanking him and Louise Burleigh for sending him a copy of their play "Punishment;" adding "Indeed, it would never have crossed my mind to identify you with the foreword; and am only sorry you should be worrying about it, or rather being worried about it. The play strikes me as having any amount of interest & grip, though I frankly don't like the last act. I find it - I think owing to the Americanizing - a little difficult to follow out the Casey business; but it was enough for your purpose any way to suggest the corrupt background. Thank you so much for the kind wording of your letter. I wish you & Miss Burleigh every success."
