Summary
Saying "I am much obliged by your kind offer of an opera ticket but I shall not be able to go till late in the evening. You and your letter on arcadian subjects are very entertaining. I think of sending you a bottle of walnut juice to colour your hands. In the meantime buy and read Daphnis & Chloe, a Greek romance in french at Mr. De Coudrey's(?) in bond Street. I promise you much entertainment in it. I shall go to the Lyceum in the Strand at 9 this evening after Heathcotes(?) dinner. I am truly sorry to write to you in so large and vulgar a hand but [illegible] my eyes are bad and I cannot see in the morning."
