Concerning the position of Vice President of the London Institution for Vaccination; saying "If the office of Vice President of the Institution requires even a moderate degree of attendance it will be out of my power from my many other avocations, to give it - if otherwise, to shew my respect for the Managers & the Institution I shall submit myself to them to have my name put in nomination, but at any rate shall not fail to contribute according to my means to the support of the Institution; and I beg your will have the goodness to communicate the import of this answer to the Managers, to none of whom assuredly would I wish to give the trouble to call upon me."
