Summary
Congratulating him on "the arrival of a Regiment of regular Troops from the Southward with a Detachment of artilery and the alacrity with which the militia in General Manifest [illegible]turn out at this time to Repell the Expected invation of the Enemy. It gives me peculiar Satisfaction to hear that our friends to the northeast evince Disposition of Cooperating with us;" adding that it appears likely that the enemy is not serious in attacking from the north "as they Cannot have the least hope of success - and that while they amuse us in that Quarter they will strike a Blow to the westward. I therefore Submit to you wether it would not be expedient that I should march the Militia who are now Collected at Half Moon to Schenectady;" asking if he might share Colonel Schuyler's Regiment and if so would he order them to march to Half Moon."
