Summary
Concerning the arrival of Prince William Henry aboard the Pegasus; saying "I have communicated to His Royal Highness Prince William Henry the purport of your letter of yesterday and of your inventions of ordering the Forts and Batteries to pay the compliment due to His exalted Station on His landing from His Ship to-morrow ; in reply, His Royal Highness inform'd me, that Major Amherst had waited upon Him on board the Pegasus by your direction, and that He had signified his pleasure to the Major respecting these matters, which Major Amherst of course has fully communicated to you. His Royal Highness has not as yet fix'd upon any day for visiting you at the Kings House, or I most certainly should have given you notice of it, on His arrival I made His Royal Highness an offer of a Bed at the Adm'ls Penn, which He declined, assuring me that it was a rule with Him never to sleep out of His Ship."
