Summary
Congratulating him on his appointment to negotiate "...an affair of so great Importance as that of the General Peace. I have long since been acquainted with your Lordships merit and Capacity which convinces me that her majesty could not have [illegible] upon a fitter person to manager hers and the whole Nations Interest's. I am so well assured of your Lordships Piety and Charity as well as your Zeal for the Protestant Religion that I am fully persuaded, if any good offices can be done for our poor Brethren that suffer for their Religion in France, or for those who have abandon'd that Country for the Quiet of their Consciences, Your Lordship will use all possible means to procure them some advantages;" asking him to listen to the man who is delivering the letter "...and let him know whether you think fit he should make any other steps to have so nice an affair succeed on which depends the Quiet of a great number of People which have suffer'd for a long time past, and cannot have or expect any Ease; but by the Queen's Protection and your Lordship's means."
