A collection of letters, poems, and other tributes written for publication in a special issue of The Critic dedicated to celebrating Oliver Wendell Holmes's 75th birthday on August 29, 1884. The contributors include many of the leading authors and celebrities of the day. The collection also includes letters from Holmes related to the publication of this special issue of The Critic; an 1892 poem about Holmes by John Greenleaf Whittier, and the August 30, 1884 issue of The Critic and Good Literature.
