The letter is undated, however, Richard Sheridan's speech at the Hastings Trial began on Tuesday, June 3, 1788 and continued on Friday, June 6, Tuesday, June 10 and concluded on Friday, June 13, 1788; the letter is dated "Monday evening" therefore the letter could be dated to June 2, 1788 or June 9, 1788.
