Bound with Lowell's autograph manuscript of A Year's Life (MA 237.1), an autograph manuscript of the poem "To Keats" (MA 237.2); an autograph manuscript of a poem beginning "Hope first the youthful poet leads" (MA 237.3), and an undated autograph letter signed with initials to J. F. Heath (MA 237.4). Items in the collection are described in separate records.
The letter is dated "Wednesday Decr?"; possible date is based on Lowell's reference to a meeting with Little and a "volume which will ... soon go to press." Little published Lowell's A Year's Life in 1841.
With a manuscript note about bottles of wine on p. [3] in an unknown hand.
With sketches of a man's head on the address panel.
