Summary
Describing the details of his travels in the United States since his stay with her in Palm Beach including his visit to Boston where he "gave myself up for 4 or 5 days to the dental drill, & other refinements of torture - after which I broke away, & straight for St. Louis, a dark monotony of pilgrimage, sustained only by the sense of descending again into relatively blander air;" providing his impressions of St. Louis, "I quite liked that great grey Missouri metropolis - which isn't at all hustling & bristling like this terrific place, but as languid & dreamy as the possession of coal, smoke & sky scrapers will permit;" and Chicago, "it's an experience of really quite colossal amicability & affectionateness", and explaining his plans to continue on to Indianapolis, Los Angeles and Seattle before returning to New York; reminding her that he hopes to have dinner with her in New York in May.
