Summary
Declining to purchase a portrait of herself by George Romney; saying "Lord Holland received a letter from you at Brighthelmstone in which you offer him the refusal of a half finished portrait of me, by Mr. Romney; to say the truth I never very much liked the picture, the only merit it might have had the resemblance must long since have ceased being one from the number of years that have elapsed since it was begun. I shall therefore decline your proposal of taking it."
