Declining to sit for his picture; saying "Your very kind Letter rec'd it is some pain to denigh so flattering a request, but as I have never sett for my picture, and refused a Society a similar one I must beg your excuses. I value much your friendship, I am not clear, that my further journeys would be of any service, if I ever come into Sussex with pleasure I shall visit Eartham, but am almost wore out with fatigue change of Climates, &c. My best respects wait on Mrs. Hayley, a cordial wellcome you will ever have at my Cottage."
