Summary
Concerning a copy of the "Contemporary;" saying "I was much gratified by your kindness in sending me a copy of the "Contemporary" which reached me here. It - ie copies reached the Libraries in Great Yarmouth not until Friday. Happening to be Editor of the Brighton Guardian I have put in the advertisement of the "Contemporary". Look at the copy I send you. I do not remember ever to have seen the "Contemporary" advertised in Brighton. Not approving of publishers being taxed for copies of their books for papers, I make it a rule to advertize once, free, any book sent to me for review;" adding, in a postscript, "I was really glad to see a letter from you again."
