On p. 129, The title The Anatomist's Hymn has been changed to The Living Temple. Parson Turell's legacy, or; The President's old arm-chair, a mathematical story (p. 284) is an amplification of The President's old arm-chair, or Prelude.
Parts 1-3 are lacking in this manuscript owing to the physical incapacity of Holmes to copy them out (see accompanying letters). The Autocrat's Autobiography dated Boston, November 1, 1858 written for the 1858 edition, The Preface to the new and revised edition, 1883, dated Beverly Farms, Mass. August 29, 1882, and Parson Turell's Legacy, were re-copied by Dr. Holmes in December 1891 by request.
