Signatures: A-C⁸: 32 leaves.
Paper format: Chancery quarto.

Commentary by Johannes Synthen.
Morgan copy is typographic variant, perhaps stop-press correction, from copy at Frankfurt/Main, Universitätsbibliothek (leaf C5v): heading "Ad vagandum" at right rather than centered and without blank line below as in Frankfurt copy, and with blank line after "Ad fatiscendu[m]" not in Frankfurt.
Morgan copy leaf dimensions: 20.3 x 15 cm.
Binding
15th-century German quarter blind-stamped calf over wooden boards (21.5 x 16 cm), sewn on 3 supports by the St. Godehard bindery (EBDB w000212, active about 1460-1500). Modern plain paper pastedowns and endleaves. 1 clasp, missing. Hole on rear board for chain hasp. The wooden boards show indentations from previous blind-tooling and were likely reused from an earlier binding.
Inscriptions/Markings
Hand decoration: Rubrication mostly unrealized, red paragraph marks and capital strokes only leaves C1-2.5-6. Annotations: No marginal notations in text. Contemporary foliation begins at 62, following from Composita verborum, mostly trimmed.
Provenance
Hildesheim (Lower Saxony), St. Godehard, Benedictines, inscription: "liber monasterij s[an]c[t]i Godehardi p[ropr]e [et] extra mu" (Perger, leaf A1r) and binding; Ampleforth Abbey, bookplates (front pastedown and Verba deponentalia, leaf C8v) and stamp (front endleaf 1 recto); Morgan Library & Museum, purchased from Bernard Quaritch on the Lathrop C. Harper C-1 Fund, April 2024.
