Modern full brown goatskin over boards (33 x 23.5 cm), sewn on 5 supports by Mercier (signed: Mercier se de Cuzin), for Robert Hoe. Gilt-tooled vellum doublures and vellum fly leaves; decorative endbands; gilt and gauffered edges. (Chemise and slip case by Mercier--note from previous record.)

Inscriptions/Markings:

Hand decoration: Contemporary Italian illuminated foliate border with armorial in bottom margin (leaf [2]/1r) with major initials with same foliate decoration; minor initials rubricated in alternating red and blue. Annotations: No marginal notations in text. Early alpha-numeric manuscript quire signatures.
