Binding
Modern half black goatskin, with sides covered in paste paper (29.5 x 22 cm) on 5 supports, bound by Duprez-Lahey (former binding by W. Pratt, see Bennett Cat.). Gilt edges. Original fifteenth-century title label preserved on 4th fly leaf: "Psalt[er]iu'm] glosa Joh[annes] T[ur]recre[mata]. Dyalog[us] Greg[orii] et Greg[orii] s[upe]r ca[ntica] ca[anticorum]," with red shelf mark "P K." PML notes from previous binding preserved on rear pastedown.
Inscriptions/Markings
Hand decoration: Rubricated, red lombards, paragraph marks, underlining, and capital strokes. Torquemada and two Gregory texts rubricated in the same hand. Annotations: Some contemporary marginal annotations in Psalms 21-23. Psalm 118 divided by canonical hours. Late eighteenth/early nineteenth-century(?) notes on verso of 3rd fly leaf on printing history of Peter Schoeffer and his son Johann, including Jacob Scheffer of Bois le Duc, signed "M: A 18."

Parish church in Merry-la-Vallée (Burgundy), France(?), fifteenth/sixteenth-century inscription, partially trimmed: "[?] Regis Curatus in Meera (Merriacum?) emit hunc librum" (f. [1]/1r); Jacob Scheffer (d. 1796), of s'Hertogenbosch (i.e. Bois le Duc), sold in 1780 (note on verso of 3rd fly leaf); Theodore Irwin (1827-1902); J. Pierpont Morgan (1837-1913), purchased with the Irwin collection, 1900.
