Contemporary blind-stamped calf over wooden boards (31.5 x 21.5 cm), sewn on 3 supports by Johann Schüssler in Augsburg (EBDB w001512 and Kyriss 90, a.k.a., Wundervogel or Fuchsvogel-Meister I); rebacked, leather torn away from parts of rear board. Plain paper pastedowns and fly leaves, rear pastedown is proof sheet from Petrus Comestor, Historia scholastica ([Augsburg]: Zainer, 1473), ip00458000, f. 8r showing earlier setting of the page. 2 clasps, wanting, with foliate catch plates.

Hand decoration: Leaves [2]/3-8 only rubricated with red wash on woodcut and woodcut initials, captial strokes and underlining. Annotations: Occasional marginal notations, with some cross-referencing between legends, and textual corrections.
