Binding
16th-century French gilt-tooled red morocco over paper boards (13 x 6 cm), sewn on 3 supports; repaired by Duprez Lahey. Plain vellum pastedowns and endleaves; plain endbands; gilt edges. 2 clasps, 1 missing.
Inscriptions/Markings
Hand decoration: Contemporary hand-colored woodcuts (painting on leaf a8r might be modern), gilt initials on red ground, yellow capital strokes, and red ruling lines. Annotations: Contemporary prayer(?), abraded (leaf i8v) but transcript records as "Le velle sainct Martin a la malle me[?] vint quatre seyens m'on prins pour mengés en haller en frisson m'ont boutté et m'on assessonné dissant que j'estois bon pour haller l'atencion. Monseigneur le bailly est pourvu d'escuier je ne peus de sirop[?] d'estre mis en cartier j'espiere de mon mestier quand il en est mestier moyse mes compaignons pour haller l'atencion."
