19th-century black gilt-tooled goatskin over heavy paper boards (33 x 23.5 cm), sewn on 6 supports by Francis Bedford. Plain paper pastedowns and fly leaves; decorative endbands; gilt edges.

Hand decoration: Rubricated, white vine initial (leaf [1]/2r, same as PML 294), alternating red and blue initials, and red headlines. Annotations: A few marginal notations in two different hands.
