Both volumes: 19th-century French red morocco with sides covered in red paper over paper boards (13.5 x 8.5 cm), sewn on 3 supports. Marbled paper pastedowns and fly leaves with plain paper fly leaves; gilt edges.

Hand decoration: Illuminated border of flowers and foliage on a gold ground (leaf a1v), 4-line initials in gold on red/blue ground; some red printed initials gone over in blue. Annotations: Minimal contemporary marginal notations, mainly textual corrections or keywords, decorative brackets, and NB marks. Thomas Aquinas added to calender on 7 March.
