18th-century English gilt-tooled red morocco over paper boards (29.5 x 21 cm), sewn on 5 supports, for the Earl of Pembroke. Marbled paper pastedowns and fly leaves with plain paper fly leaves; plain endbands; gilt edges.
Inscriptions/Markings:
Hand decoration: Rubrication unrealized. Annotations: Contemporary marginal notations in several hands, on first few leaves only. Notation on a5v dated 1554.
