Binding: 
19th-century blind-stamped brown morocco in an historical style over paper boards (27.5 x 20 cm), sewn on 5 supports by Lortic (father or sons?). Marbled paper pastedowns and fly leaves with plain paper fly leaves; decorative endbands; all edges gilt.
Inscriptions/Markings: 

Hand decoration: Illuminated initials (Italian (Rome?)), shell gold with white vine decoration, and incipit rubrics. Annotations: Contemporary notations throughout in several hands, including textual corrections, nota bene marks, and decorative brackets.

Unidentified typed dealer (Olschki?) description in French (rear fly leaf); Pierpont Morgan (1837-1913), purchased from Leo Olschki, Aug. 1912.
