Each volume: 18th-century French gilt-tooled red morocco over paper boards (31.5 x 23 cm), sewn on 6 supports. Marbled paper pastedowns and endleaves, with plain paper endleaves; decorative endbands; gilt edges.

Hand decoration: Contemporary French rubrication, alternating red and blue initials and paragraph marks, yellow capital strokes. Vol. I, leaf [1]/3r, vol. II, leaf [1]/1v with illuminated floral initial and foliate border; large space for illustrated scene unrealized. Annotations: 15th/16th-century marginal notations in first few quires of vol. I only and foliation throughout.
