Binding: 
19th-century English full brown goatskin, blind-tooled in a pastiche of an early style, with gilt-tooled turn-ins, over heavy paper boards (40 x 29.5 cm), sewn on 5 supports. Plain paper pastedowns and endleaves; decorative endbands; gilt edges.
Inscriptions/Markings: 

Hand decoration: Contemporary German rubrication, alternating red and blue initials, red paragraph marks, L-brackets and underlining; primary initials painted with foliate decoration. Annotations: Minimal marginal notations throughout text; early manuscript notation: "Lambek[us]" (leaf [21]/3r).

Unidentified Dutch inscription, partially inked out, 18th/19th century (leaf [64]/7v); Henry H. Gibbs, 1862, inscription: "bought of Boone, unbound £14.14" (vol. I, front pastedown) and Aldenahm House armorial bookplate, Bible no. 47 and shelfmark: L I-b. (vol. II, front pastedown), also with a sheet of notes regarding the watermarks (laid-in at vol.
