Hand decoration: Contemporary rubrication, red initials, paragraph marks, capital strokes, and underlining; one initial in dark blue (leaf a1r). Annotations: No marginal notations in text.
Provenance
Sister Katherine van Esch (North Brabant), contemporary Dutch inscription indicating the nun's donation of the volume: "suster katerin(?) va[n] esch," followed in slightly different ink and hand by: "heeft dit (ke) boeck int / ghemen[en] (ke) ghegheve[n] / bidt voer haer," the initials "ke" split between the two lines of the inscription are likely Katrin van Esch (leaf C5v); Vincent van Gogh (1866-1911), cousin of the painter, bookplate (front pastedown); Carl J.
