19th-century English full brown crushed goatskin, with blind-stamped centerpiece, over paper boards (41 x 30 cm), sewn on 5 supports. Plain vellum pastedowns and endleaves; decorative endbands; yellow edges.

Hand decoration: Contemporary rubrication, alternating red and blue initials, red paragraph marks, foliation, and capital strokes. Annotations: Contemporary marginal notations sporadically throughout text, including some textual corrections and comments, many clover-shaped nota bene marks. Contemporary manuscript quire signatures, mainly trimmed, with Arabic numerals written in blind on the first leaves of each quire. Contemporary manuscript contents on 2 leaves bound at start, *² (watermark: scales, see Piccard online DE3270-jurid395_167, 1466-1475).
