18th/19th-century (since 1831 Boutourlin cat.) French gilt-tooled maroon straight-grained morocco over paper boards (22 x 15.5 cm), sewn on 3 supports. Plain yellow paper pastedowns and endleaves, with plain paper endleaves; decorative, stuck-on endbands; yellow and blue edges.
Inscriptions/Markings
Hand decoration: Contemporary rubrication (Lower Rhine?), red initials, rubrics, and paragraph marks (C-type with elongated lower extension). Annotations: No marginal notations in text.
