Binding
19th-century gilt- and blind-tooled full brown goatskin over paper boards (30.5 x 22 cm), sewn on 5 supports by Riviere & Son for Bennett. Marbled paper pastedowns and endleaves, with plain paper endleaves; decorative endbands.
Inscriptions/Markings
Hand decoration: Primary initial in grey wash, remainder unrealized. Annotations: Manuscript headlines identifying question division of text. Contemporary marginal notations and text corrections sporadically through first-half of text, in different hand than headlines. Contemporary inscriptions: "Non rete accipitua tenditur qui male faciunt a Bacho, [??] qui male agit [??] vero [???] qui nihil mali facit tenditur," derived from Terence, Phormio, II.2, and in French, "da ille doner et sur la sanegard de forte ile shimen viande" with a drawing of an animal and the blurred English inscription: "He is a k[????] ..." (leaf B5v).
