19th-century brown goatskin with gilt-tooled border over boards (31.5 x 22 cm.), sewn on 5 supports by Clarke & Bedford. Plain paper pastedowns and fly leaves; decorative endbands; edges gilt.
Inscriptions/Markings
Hand decoration: Rubricated, red lombards, paragraph marks, capital strokes and underlining/boxes around incipit/explicit. "Hexameron Ambrosii" written in red (leaf [1]/1r). Annotations: Contemporary alpha-numeric manuscript quire signatures in bottom right corner of rectos, mostly trimmed. Minor contemporary notations in text.
