Binding
Nineteenth-century full red goatskin with gilt-tooled turn-ins over boards (27 x 19.5 cm), sewn on three supports by Chambolle-Duru. Marbled paper doublures and fly leaves; all edges gilt.
Inscriptions/Markings
Hand decoration: Rubricated, red lombards, capital strokes, and underlining; many initials bled. Annotations: "ffl" signed at bottom of colophon.

Richard Bennett (1849-1930), armorial bookplate (front pastedown), his catalogue number and price code erased (first front fly verso); Pierpont Morgan (1837-1913), purchased with the Bennett collection, 1902.
